Wildland Fire Suppression Specialist
Chloeta is establishing a Select List of pre-qualified individuals specializing in a variety of non-specific wildland fire suppression operational services to support the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, British Columbia Wildfire Service (BCWS).  These personnel may be called upon during a fire season that exceeds the internal capacity of the Province.
Duty Station
Kamloops, BC
Minimum Requirements
Experience/qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
  • Fire Guard Planning / Ignition Planning / Line Locators 
  • Heavy Equipment Supervision / Equipment Branch Director
  • Danger Tree Blasting Services 
  • Hotspot Scanning and aerial/sat photos 
  • GPS fire mapping services
  • Forestry Specialist - for creek crossing location and mitigation, culvert installation, slope stability assessments, fireline location input, timber removal and decking expertise, danger tree management with heavy equipment
  • Fire Behaviour Specialist
  • First Nations Archeological and Heritage Assessments
  • Faller QS/T Services
  • Aviation Consultants, Specialists and Experts - Please see Aviation appendix document for submission guidelines
  • Fire Rehabilitation - Rehab Specialists, Rehab Coordinators and Rehab Planning and Implementation
As well as:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Background check and drug test required
  • Proficient with technology including, but not limited to: email, web-based databases, printing, scanning, etc. 
  • Highly reliable and able to function with limited oversight in a fast-paced environment
  • Three (3) years or more related employment experience
Target Requirements:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Represent Chloeta professionally at times
  • Support wildland fire field operations in British Columbia
  • Available for 24/7 mobilization during fire season
  • Accepting of extensive travel demands during fire season
Compensation and Work Schedule
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience, education and capability
Security Clearance
  • Not required
Travel Required
  • Extensive, when assigned to incidents

  • No, there are not funds obligated for relocation expenses
