Our client is seeking a highly motivated executive with strong business development experience and technical manufacturing knowledge who will lead a precision manufacturing operation in Northern Indiana. Reporting to the CEO of the holding company, the President will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company including looking for growth opportunities and managing overall operations. This includes planning, direction and coordination for all technical activities to ensure optimum utilization of personnel, equipment, materials and facilities. The manufacturing processes are highly technical, with tight tolerances, stringent quality standards and high expectations for on-time delivery. This position will also be the main line of communication between the board of directors and corporate operations.
The President will also be expected to personally spearhead new product and business development initiatives by formulating strategies, including geographic and industry targets, in addition to leveraging existing business relationships.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and a solid understanding of all facets of precision manufacturing operations. Must also have proven track record in business development and marketing strategies in complex technical industries, such as automotive, defense, industrial equipment or aerospace. Needs a strong desire to be actively involved in all aspects of sales and marketing functions, including customer visits and communications. This will require some degree of travel. Good listening skills, communications skills and ability to take calculated risks are needed. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement is important.
