We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work with our Electronic and Mechanical Engineers to design, develop and aid in the manufacturing of Electro-Mechanical assemblies and systems. While this position will be dealing primarily with mechanical and electronic assemblies, almost all of the work that is done in this facility contains optics. Familiarity in working with, and handling, optics would be desirable.Specific duties include:• Generate a workflow which accurately defines tasks and estimates times to completion
• Write detailed sets of instructions (Manufacturing Operation Sheet) which detail the assembly process for our hardware and design tooling to support these tasks
• Read and work with engineer generated Pro/E drawingsBasic Qualifications : • Bachelor Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or related degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Experience in Aerospace or similar industry.
• Experience in working with computer based Enterprise Management System such as ERP or SAP
• Experience in writing a detailed set of instructions (Manufacturing Operation Sheet) which detail the assembly process for our
hardware and experience designing tooling to support these tasks
• Familiarity with the Pro/E design tool. Must be able to read and work with engineer generated Pro/E drawings. Being able to p
produce. Pro/E drawings would be a plus but will train as required
• Familiarity with NASA and/or J-Standard soldering techniques. Solder certification is not required but would be a plus
• Familiar with working with a number of different materials such as graphite epoxy, beryllium, titanium, various alumins and steels. F
Familiar with various adhesives and epoxies
• Must be a good communicator both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work with both internal and external customersShould be experienced with building "flight"hardware and should be familiar with the following: - Working with and building hardware in a clean room
- Handling equipment that is static sensitive.
- Aware of MIL Specs, ISO requirements and DFMA
